Drew Stapleton, LLMSW

Staff Therapist
dstapleton@melbornsteinclinic.org

Drew received his master's degree in social work from Wayne State University with a specialization in psychodynamic theory and technique. He has worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults from a wide array of cultural, socioeconomic, racial/ethnic, and religious backgrounds. He works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and interpersonal and family challenges.

Drew’s approach is rooted in the understanding that much of our behavior, emotional responses, and overall well-being are influenced by earlier past experiences, the impacts of which often escape our awareness. He aims to provide a space that allows people to momentarily take time away from the busy demands of day-to-day life, so they can begin the challenging work of uncovering unconscious patterns from a place of calm and stability. It is through this process of developing insight and clarity that we can start living a purposeful life, and ultimately reveal our innate potential.

Drew believes that we are complex beings, and as such, he works to help people understand their individual experiences from a place of non-judgement. He views the therapeutic relationship as important, unique and collaborative. Drew is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly engages in supervision and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in psychodynamic theory and practice.
